Giving back to the community is the focus of the partnership between the Pat Quinn Classic and Gateway Entertainment and Casinos Limited.
Gateway began its partnership of the annual tournament in 2017 as a platinum sponsor to support the tournament and showcase the company’s food and entertainment facilities in Burnaby.
The partnership is an important part of the company’s commitment to youth sport according to Jonathan Gilmore, the food and beverage manager at the Grand Villa Casino, located a short distance away from the Bill Copeland Sports Centre, in Burnaby Sport Park, the feature rink for the 2018 Pat Quinn Classic.
“I grew up in the in the hockey community,” said Gilmore “It’s a wonderful community of people. The culture that comes with it is fantastic. Hockey breeds good kids and I think it’s an important thing for us to give back to the community. And we have an opportunity to do that with the Pat Quinn Classic.”
Some of the visiting teams will stay at the Grand Villa Hotel during the four-day tournament and will enjoy the facilities and various dining options. And Gateway will be onsite at the main arena during the tournament offering activities for kids and promotions for spectators.
